**Saturday's run was thru 10" of fresh snow, and as the race was running more snow was falling! It was beautiful, but a tough trail. Overnight the temps dropped well below zero and the trail firmed up to make Sunday's run much faster and fun for the dogs. Both teams ran very well and finished happy.**

**NOTE: race marshal elected to throw out all Saturday race times due to trail problems for all teams
& mushers. Sunday was a great day to run dogs. While both days
were a bit "warm" the dogs did well.

* Natalie had major leader issues at this race, Gus didn't want to run in the heat--he knew better! Saturday race temps rose to 57 degrees by time the runs were finished!! Sunday started in the 40's but dropped to upper 20's by the end. The trail was slushy and difficult for the dogs to run on, but as the temps dropped trail conditions and dog/musher morale improved to make the race finish a good one. On a positive note: Natalie's team was brought in by her 2 yearling leaders the last 1.5 miles on Sunday--way to go Memphis & Miami!! Sorry! No photos from this race.... Aaron's Team with Vail &
Luna in lead, followed by Boomer & Tenzing, Lhotse & Chester
Elton Ender Elton,WI March 12, 2005 We didn't get any "official" results from this race... It was a sprint run 6.5 miles, which is short for our teams! Both of us ran 8 dog teams and had a lot of fun--which is all that matters! The dogs were a bit confused as to why they were running so fast and why we stopped so soon! They were just getting warmed up when it was all over. We were fortunate enough to get some awesome photos though, courtesy of Joy's Sled Dog Photos again. This was our final event for this winter, and we are looking forward to summer and thinking already about next season!
